What Is A Glass Breakage Warranty?

Let’s face it…broken windows are an unexpected and unwelcome surprise for homeowners.

If you’ve invested your hard-earned money in new windows, the last thing you want to do is pay to have them installed a second time after an accident! The question is, do you have a glass breakage warranty on your windows?

If you had windows installed with George Kent Home Improvements, then we’ve got your back. You will be fully protected with our worry-free lifetime glass breakage warranty.

What’s A Normal Glass Breakage Warranty?

Not all warranties are created equal and, generally, most window companies will offer a short warranty period of anywhere from five to 15 years. Others offer different lengths of coverage depending on the type of window installed. Some companies provide longer warranties if you install a sealed window unit or a window with insulated glass. Window components may also be warrantied for different lengths of time, compared with the actual panes of glass.

Just to be extra confusing, some warranties will include parts, but not labour. Others will warranty the original purchaser of the window, but the warranty will not be transferable if you sell your home.

In a nutshell, there really is no “normal” length of warranty. It is best to discuss the warranty with your installer before signing the contract.
